The Alternative Art School

The Alternative Art School (TAAS) presents four artists whose works engage space, identity, and movement through diverse media. Spanning installation, photography, mixed media, and film, these artists bring their unique perspectives to the fair, reflecting TAAS’s commitment to fostering experimental and boundary-pushing contemporary art.

Kellie O’Dempsey
Wallpaper Installation

Kellie O’Dempsey creates immersive, site-responsive installations that blend video projection, collage, gestural line, and digital drawing with performance. Often working collaboratively with sound artists and dancers, O’Dempsey’s work disrupts and reimagines spatial experience, inviting audiences into dynamic, evolving environments that heighten perception and reframe the familiar.

Victoria Loren Miller
Photography

Victoria Loren Miller explores the body’s relationship to space through photography and design. Often working with self-portraiture, she captures movement, energy, and presence, creating intimate compositions that reflect the fluidity of identity and place. Her work transforms the everyday into something poetic, emphasizing the interplay between the self and the world around it.

Amber Imrie
Mixed Media

Raised in rural Arkansas, Amber Imrie’s work queers the landscape of home, memory, and identity. Weaving together photography, textiles, and text, Imrie explores themes of gender, domesticity, and the intersection of rural and queer experiences. Her practice is deeply informed by personal history, reimagining familiar spaces as sites of transformation and resilience. Imrie is also the Program Director and an instructor at The Alternative Art School.

Stacie Goodman
Film & Mixed Media

Stacie Goodman is an Oakland-based artist working at the intersection of film, mixed media, and social critique. His experimental narratives balance poetic surrealism with political urgency, using light, movement, and framing to navigate complex themes. Goodman’s practice extends into writing and education, where he explores art’s role in activism and critical discourse.
