Brett Flanigan is an artist who lives and works in Oakland, CA. He graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a degree in Biology.  He works primarily in painting and sculpture, and has exhibited artwork extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe. He has also executed numerous public art projects, including a mural in the Lilley Museum at the University of Nevada, Reno, and a public plaza sculpture project in downtown Oakland, among others. His artwork is largely abstract, and is often driven by self-imposed games or rules, which can involve pattern, probability, repetition, and logic. These constraints are used to move the image or structure forward towards unique and sometimes unexpected outcomes.
